Welcome to the Upper Tahquamenon Falls gallery, celebrating one of North America's most majestic and unique natural wonders.

Deep in the heart of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, the Upper Falls stands as one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River, spanning over 200 feet across and dropping a dramatic 50 feet into the Tahquamenon River.

Often called the "Root Beer Falls," its famous amber-brown color is beautifully captured here—a striking visual result of natural tannins leached from the surrounding cedar, hemlock, and spruce swamps.

This collection highlights the sheer power of the rushing river, the delicate white foam of its crests, and the pristine, dense forest that frames the gorge.
